Spring 1997 - Cincinnati to Yukon

Day 15 - Cincinnati, OH
15 April 1997 (sunny! 60s; back where we started!; mileage = 49) -- We
left Cowan Lake around 8:30 and headed for the bike trail. That was close
to 17 miles. We had a brief pause at Fort Ancient and cranked along at a
pretty good clip (usually 13-16 mph). In Morrow we stopped and I put the
clipless pedals on my bike. I really like them! I thought they'd be really
hard to use, but after struggling with those rubber boots in the toe clips,
I didn't think they could be much harder and so far they're not. Then we
stopped in Loveland and had some lunch and luxuriated in the sun. It felt
fabulous! The only tough part of the day was climbing into Indian Hill.
Chris chose Cunningham and thought I should make it up. Instead I almost
passed out. But one stop was all it took to get to his dad's house. Dennis
will be here to feed us when he gets off work! Yippee!! X - Dennis took us
to Benchmark where we bought a bag for the chairs, more Marmot wear and
Capilene and the Michigan atlas. Then we went to Dennis' house and we
tested Nancy's bike. Then to Mio's (good food!). Back to Dad's and in the
tent for the night.
