19 September 1997 (nice; sunny; strange wind! mileage = 40.5; Santa Rosa
day trip [Robert's]) -- X - I got up and rolled up the bodybag with dew all
over it. I was dry, but I wanted to see if rolling it up with the outside
wet would get the sleeping bag wet. I had mandarin oranges for breakfast. I
redid V.M. and planned a Santa Rosa outing. I rode to an industrial safety
place (Delta S.S. Co.) and bought 3 nice pairs of sunglasses for $24. Wow!
I then went to the camping store here which was very nice, but not
especially helpful. On the way back, I stopped at the taco shop/store on
the Redwood Highway. I had a great meal for $4. It included a Mexican soft
drink that was grapefruit-flavored. Back at the house, I was real thirsty,
so I rode up to the north grocery store and bought some yucky "All Sport."
It sucks. Back home, I checked the sleeping bag -- seemed OK. I let it all
dry on the line anyway while I took a shower. I studied German for quite a
while. Robert came home as I started my dinner. I recreated and improved
upon last night's burritos. I had fresh garden tomatoes -- best I've ever
had. And I experimented with pudding, too. It worked out fine. Robert and I
chatted then played with his drums for a while. Then we played with his
synthesizer and I listened to some of his recent compositions.
