Summer 1997 - Yukon to California

Day 46
25 August 1997 (mileage = small; Healdsburg) -- X - We got up late and
made some phone calls to bike shops, Nashbar and Bruce Gordon. I spent a
long time cleaning and then measuring my chain rings. We decided to go buy
a chain for my bike to see if it helped any. It didn't much. We went to the
library. We stopped by the house, then went food shopping. We bought lots
of stuff, but Robert and Heidi were going to El Sombrero and we couldn't
say no, so we had great soft tacos there and then I had about 1/2 of Heidi's
meal. Oh ya, April cleaned up our stuff while I was playing with the bike.
We read and chatted a lot, too. A - And we rode to the job Robert is
working on -- Heidi's ex-husband's house. We climbed up onto the roof. I
believe it may be the first roof I've ever walked on. Chris went up to the
higher level and said hi to Joe Hogan who was working up there and who he
apparently has met before. It's kind of weird how everybody is connected in
some way. Anyway, I was happy to stay on the lower level and then we
descended and toured the inside of the roof in the more traditional way.
