Summer 1997 - Yukon to California
Journals - 24 August 1997
Day 45
24 August 1997 (warm and sunny; mileage = 0; Healdsburg) -- X - Did
laundry and hung on line. Hung tent to completely dry. We read a lot. I
read May, 1997 "National Geographic" about some guys who went on an Alaska
vacation on mountain bikes. Yawn. I played with Robert's music equip by
saying silly things into a microphone while he adjusted effects settings.
April and I then went out for a walk. Our pix hadn't even gone out, let
alone been returned. We found a Mexican restaurant that had excellent meat
and soft tacos. Very good. While there, a drunk Mexican wanted to be
troublesome with me (I was the only one who stared at him while he made a
spectacle of himself). No problem, though. We resumed reading when we got
back to Robert's house. I eventually got around to palying with the Escher
models I bought north of Eureka. Potato the cat is here now with us making
a lot of noise. It's also cooling off a bit.
