Winter 1998 - San Diego to Cincinnati

Day 38
07 March 1998 (winds from due east; County Road B near 13 in woods,
overlooking Harry Truman Reservoir/St. Clair County; mileage = 37) -- A -
We got up early but left the motel late (9ish), and the wind was about the
same as yesterday. The road is quite scenic and very low-traffic, so nice
in that respect. It has some impressively steep hills as a bonus. We
stopped for lunch at an RV park that was very nice and ate our sandwiches
which were pre-made this morning. It started sprinkling a drop of rain here
and there not long after we left lunch and started a little more seriously
a few miles later. We added rain gear but didn't think these hills in rain
gear would work out very well, so we started looking for a nice spot to
stop. Where we put our rain clothes on was perfect, except for the pick-up
convention behind the woods. We found a spot and Chris nearly poked his eye
out on a tree. My mental condition isn't too stable at the moment. I'm
hoping for some big mileage days, so I can feel like we're making progress.
I feel like we're in the home stretch, but stalled until further notice.
It's REALLY raining, and the silicon spray seems to be working out well!
We're still as dry as when we got in here.
