Summer 1997 - Yukon to California
Journals - 31 August 1997
Day 52
31 August 1997 (mileage = 7.1; San Francisco) -- A - Dennis, Nancy and I
went to the Cafe Muse for breakfast. I had scrambled egg, cheese, tomato
and bacon croissant that was very good. Chris chose to stay at Alex's and
read "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot" by Al Franken. I brought him back
some free post cards from the cafe. They were advertisements. Some of them
are funny, though. We all got ready and took the bikes out for a spin.
Dennis and Nancy loaded, Chris and I naked. Ha ha. We rode in the park down
to the beach. We have realized we are on vacation with them now. They
aren't riding with us (this was Chris' observation and it's true). We sat
down there for a while, watching all the people on bikes and skates and
sailboards and foot, etc. Then we rode back and went to Safeway. Dennis
sent Nancy in alone (with me) and it took us over an hour to shop. I bought
$43 and got a lot more food than Nancy did with her $48. Dennis was not so
pleased with her effort. I think he should have gone in also. It's tough to
decide what and how much to get and I have a lot of practice. They have
gone with Alex to Nancy's friend's bar. We are doing laundry and will have
burritos when we go back. That will be very yummy! We are supposed to leave
tomorrow morning. Yippie! X - Though we both enjoy Alex et al, we'd like to
get going. I also fried some potatoes for a snack which I gave some of to
Alex's roommate, Gerald. Some guy in the park pretentiously commented that
his bike was "faster" than mine. Yea, sure ...
