Summer 1997 - Yukon to California

Day 6
16 July 1997 (mileage = 0; Ferry) -- A - A whole day on the ferry. Chris
went to the observation lounge for a while in the morning and heard a
lecture given by the park system while he was there. I was being lazy,
enjoying the sun heating me up and the breeze from the ocean cooling me
off. It felt awesome! We saw some whales, dolphin, and bald eagles. Also,
some glaciers and icebergs. Pretty neat stuff. We ate mostly food we
brought, but got hungry for dinner and tried the cafe. It was not very
good. We acquired more people during the day in the solarium area. We went
to sleep because it was DARK! WOW! We had a stop at about 2 AM and about 50
cyclists got on. A bunch of them came and crowded in the solarium. Chris
was on the floor, so everyone wanted to step on him. He got it worked out,
but then left anyway.
