Ugh! Gnats!! I hate gnats... Well, they're not that bad. Actually, I bike touring surveys, I prefer gnats anytime, anywhere to Canadian mosquitos and black flies. The big problem here was that They were getting in my eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Also since I was sweating (these hills were hard work), my skin was covered in them. Mmmmm. And when they got in my eyes, I didn't really have enough water to wash them out. But fortunately, gnat swarms like this one weren't ubiquitous (like mosquitos in Canada, for example).
