Is this beautiful or what!? Wow! This is bike touring heaven! It just doesn't get any nicer than this... Ok, the weather could have been a little cheerier, but at least it wasn't hailing on me! This was a tiny road I found near the border (near the German town of Eslarn). I found a super map of the whole country for about $5. This 1:200'000 scale map is great! I can't recommend good maps highly enough. Pay whatever it costs! In this case, it was extremely reasonable. And it allowed me to find places like this. Fantastic.
