Well, this picture says it all. When the sign at the bottom of a mountain says that the pass is closed - guess what? Pass closed. I defiantly attacked this pass anyway and I was defeated. A bit down the road from here, I met a 3m wall of snow that blocked the way. I was soaked and exhausted from this climb, but it was a magnificent place. I can't say I would have done it again had I know what was waiting at the top, but I'm glad I did it. It taught me some valuable Alpine lessons that would come in handy later in Austria.
