Here's a first - finally our tent blends into the surroundings! I've always cursed the way-too-conspicuous color of our tent, but now it seems to fit right in. That's good since we just wandered out into a field and set up camp in a low spot. In the picture, I am scouting the area with the binoculars (which are highly recommended for bike touring). The wind was absolutely insane here. We needed a full "wind drill" when setting up. This is a special routine where we explicitly hold on to everything systematically while we get set up. Anything that wasn't tied down would have been gone. For example, you'll notice that I'm still wearing my helmet long after the tent has been up. That's to keep my hat on my head.
