99.99% of the time, bicycles are prohibited from using the freeway, but this is one of those .01% times. There is no other way to go where we wanted to go and there were signs that told cyclists to stay on the shoulder (no kidding?). We both felt like the freeway was one of the safest places we rode. An extra bonus was that we were climbing - serious climbing - and the freeway grade made that as easy as it was going to be. The snow is basically a result of the high altitude. |
