I just came across this photo of last Saturday’s March For Science in San Diego.
I wonder if anyone caught the significance of that the huge banner on the Civic Theater advertising Verdi’s La Traviata. Spoiler alert: the main character dies from a lack of science! Specifically a lack of a TB vaccine.
I’m sure someone noticed. Although San Diegans aren’t generally famous for their intellects, the ones who are were probably in this picture.
Update 2017-04-27: I asked my alpha scientist boss what the main character in La Traviata died of. He instantly responded, "Consumption." See what I mean?
