Neal Stephenson sure can cover a lot of ground. In this book he’s literally all over the globe with characters and settings. It seems like he pulled some cliche spy novel stuff (Russian mafia, terrorists) and mixed it with some cliche computer stuff (MMO game, virus) but the result is strangely not cliche. It’s rich and complex and highly entertaining. For a long novel, it’s quick to read. Like all of Stephenson’s work, I very much enjoyed this book.
