It was almost sunny as I approached Regensburg and crossed the Donau River. But this town was getting ready to live up to its name (which literally means "rain castle"). Within about 60 seconds, the sky went from partly cloudy to dropping big chunks of ice and rain. And for being in a town, I had a heck of a time finding cover. Finally I did find a door way to stand in. I have learned that weather like this only lasts a few minutes at that kind of intensity level (I'd have been knee deep in hail had it persisted). So I just waited a bit and when it subsided, pressed on.
