Here I am doing the final check for the final regular autonomous boating mission of the year.

And here’s what that looked like from the other side.

It was actually a fantastic day out on the water. Superb scenery and data. Although I would like to keep going out, it turns out that stern drive engines are strangely well insulated from the relatively warm water they might be sitting in, meaning that leaving such a boat on the water at this time of year without complex shore powered heating is likely to crack the engine block. Not the first time my gear failed to match my cold weather enthusiasm.

I feel like this boating season has been quite a success and I am now looking forward to the off season when I can focus more on the system architecture and AI voodoo.
